On Worship & Singing

By Federico

Singing is musical but worship is a lifestyle. I would rather sing with an attitude of worship and adoration to my Creator then to hit every high note and sing perfectly in pitch. Maybe thats why in the Psalms David says we are to "make a joyful NOISE to the Lord!" If we sing with our hearts full of love and God's presence, we are more than a performer - we are a MINISTER of God's LIFE.

That's why I want to be more than a singer. I want to be a pure WORSHIPPER. Singing high notes in a beautiful hymn or aria may titillate and temporarily inspire a listener - but the presence of amighty God in and through us can change a life eternally. Only Jesus can change someone eternally.

Purified . . .

Trial by fire. One thing is for sure. Everyday, we all will all face certain difficulties and trials which will test the heart of the pure worshipper. In 1 Corinthians 10:13 God teaches us that we need not worry that the Lod will test us beyond what He knows we can handle.

But when something doen't go our way or some unforeen event occurss , are we still thankful to God and kind to others? All of us at times have been unwillingly subjected to trials. God allows for these tests in order that we might know what is in our own hearts . . .

. . . God left him alone only to test him, that He might know all that was in his heart.

2 Chronicles 32:31b (NASB77)

All of us can sing a song
