How to be Born Again
God’s plan of salvation
Jesus said to him “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again,
he cannot see the kingdom of God."
John 3:3
You may ask yourself at this point, “What must I do to go to Heaven when I die?” You may be assured that you can go to Heaven.
What must you do then?
You must be born again.
God has made this a very simple thing that even a very young child can do it.
1. Repent of your sins and evil and turn your heart totally toward Jesus ...
To begin, get on your knees or raise your hands to heaven and simply acknowledge
that you are a sinner and repent of your sins. Be sincere. God sees all our heart motives
and knows if you are truly sorry or not.
That is your responsibilty. God's grace will help you but ultimately it is you who must agree
with God to turn from evil. Allow the Holy Spirit to gently convince you of your sins.
Identify them and repent of unbelief and all evil He shows you. God did not make us robots
because has given us a will even if that will is in bondage to sin. Simply admit you are a sinner
and be willimg to turn from your sins and seek Jesus. If you are genuine to get right with God,
you will feel His grace, presence, gentle love and forgiveness flood your souland ease your
mind almost immediately.He loves you.
Jesus loves you more than you will ever know ...
Come just as you are. Something seismic may have happened in your life that shook your world. You already know you need God's love
and help. He longs to cleanse you and forgive you! This is true for anyone who would come to Christ. God is no respecter of persons.
The Bible says,“All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” [Romans 3:23]
Through sin, the gate to the Garden in Paradise was closed to mankind. But through Christ, the gate has now been opened for all
who would repent. No matter how good you think you are, you can never get into Heaven on your own merit. You must repent and
turn from your sins to where God can help you.
2. Second, you must trust in Jesus Christ for your salvation.
Jesus died for you and took your sins upon Him when He died on the cross. He shed His blood for you. And He now offers forgiveness
and salvation to you as a free gift.
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 6:23
It is vitally important that you do not procrastinate, my friend, for God is calling you to His eternal salvation now and at this moment .
. .
Wherefore as the Holy Ghost saith, today if ye will hear his voice,
harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness . . .
Hebrews 3:7-8
. Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
2 Corinthians 6:2b
May we all yield to His friendship and His Lordship while there is still time. His grace is more than sufficient to rescue any who will
call upon Him. Just call upon His name with your whole heart and you will feel His saving presence surround you!
Just say this prayer right now . . .
“Lord Jesus. I confess with my mouth that you are my Lord and God.
You are the Good Shepherdwho will lead me to green pastures
and to rest beside still waters ...
Lord Jesus, I repent of all my sinsand ask you to forgive me and cleanse
me by the Blood of the Cross of Calvary.
Come into my heart, Jesus, and make me born again by your Spirit.
Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and empower me by Your grace to submit to Your Lordship.
I totally surrender to Your will, Lord Jesus . . .”
God knows the human frame. Like a little ewe lamb, well your “feeble frame” He knows.
He knows how blinded and ignorant we can be - like the vunerable, tiny ewe lamb ...
Thankfully, He has not made salvation some mystical, difficult thing to understand.
Unlike other religions, salvation is offered freely from Heaven and can be easily accepted by anyone
without respect of persons. God has made salvation very simple – simple but profound.
He’s made it so simple that all a person needs to do is to confess with their mouth and
sincerely believe in their heart that Jesus is Lord . . .
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead,
thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness;
and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Romans 10: 9-10
God wants all of us to be assured; He wants all of us to know for certain that we are saved and that it is a difficult thing for a truly
saved person to habitually and continually desire to sin against God . . .
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God;
that ye may know that ye have eternal life,
and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
1 John 5:13
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away;
behold, all things are become new.
2 Corinthians 5:17
To those who consider themselves “learned,” all of this might sound too simple and straightforward. The apostle Paul has this
to say to you . . .
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
1 Corinthians 1:18
Jesus the King is coming. He will come! He will come! Heaven is a real place. Heaven is a real location.
Dear friend, your only ticket, your only passport to the heavenly city of God is Jesus!
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
John 14:6
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name
under Heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Acts 4:12
Life is so short. You are here today and you may be gone tomorrow. So many pay so much attention to that which is so unimportant.
When compared to eternity, the life you are now living is so very short. One day you are young and the next day you are old. One day
you have all the strength and energy you need and the next day it’s gone. In a few years, it’s all gone.
What next . . .
A godly leader once used an example of a young man who had just graduated from college.
This man of God asked the youth what he was going to do with his life.
He said, “I’m going to graduate from college and get a degree.”
He said, “What next?”
The young man answered, “I’m then going to go to graduate school and get a PhD.”
The man of God said again, “What next?”
The young man said, “I am going to get a good job and save some money.”
The man of God said again, “What next?”
The young man said, “I am going to find a wife and get married.”
The man of God said, “What next?”
He said, “I am going to get a house and have some children and raise them.”
He said, “What next?”
The young man said, “I’m going to complete a successful career.”
The man of God said, “What next?”
The young man said, “I’m going to retire and enjoy my grandchildren.”
The man of God said, “What next?”
The young man said, “Then my wife and I are going to travel around the world several times.”
The man of God said, “What next?”
He said, “Then I guess I’ll just grow old and die.”
The man of God said, “What next?”
The young man then said, “I never thought about that . . .”
What next? I believe the Holy Spirit is asking many of you the same question right now. You see, one day your whole life will be gone
. Then you will realize what was really important in your life was your spiritual destiny. Miracles and signs and wonders are very
important but as great as they are there is no greater miracle than when a person is born again.
This is the greatest miracle. There is no miracle greater than this. Eternity is a very long, long time. It’s time to stop playing games
with your life. Today I ask you, choose you this day who you will serve. You did not have a choice in your first birth but God gives you
a choice in your second birth. God says for you to choose life over death. It is your choice even as you stand before God you should at
least thank Him for giving you the liberty to choose. Hell is a real place of torment beyond description. Yet God has done everything
possible so that you don’t have to go there. Jesus does not want one soul to be in the Lake of Fire.
So I ask you this important question? Are you born again?
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins,
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:9
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:
I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
John 10:10
Those of you who are rich in this life, I say to you do not be haughty or prideful nor trust in those uncertain riches.
But trust in the living God who gives you richly all things to enjoy. [1Timothy 6:17]
God is not mocked.
Simply read the following three Scriptures and ask Him into your heart . . .
I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore,
Amen; and have the keys of Hell and of death.
Revelation 1:18
God loves you without measure and has sent His “best” to you so that you could be saved . . .
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:16
And His goal is not only to save you but to conform you into Him image.
He desires for you to become part of the royal family – sons of the living God!
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God,
even to them that believe on his name . . .
John 1:12
Are you open to hearing His voice?
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door,
I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me.
Revelation 3:20
It doesn’t matter what sins you’ve committed or what race, socio economic or ethnic background you are from.
God will save you where you are at for He is no respecter of persons . . .
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Romans 10:13
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ . . .
Romans 5:1
God has done everything that is needful to make your salvation possible. The choice is yours. You must personally receive Jesus
Christ and make a solid decision to follow Him. You must believe that He died on the cross and rose again from the dead so that
you can have eternal life. I ask you to pray a prayer asking Christ to forgive you and to invite Him into your heart to trust Him as Lord
and Savior.
I would like to offer another prayer of salvation which you can repeat to Jesus.
Say this prayer and repeat it out loud with sincerity.
Dear Jesus,
I am a sinner.
I repent of my sins.
I am sorry that I ever sinned against you.
Forgive my sins right now.
Cleanse me by your blood, Lord Jesus.
Make me clean.
Remove evil from my heart.
I ask You to come into my heart.
Jesus, you are the Son of the living God
Come into my heart, Lord Jesus.
Come into my heart, Lord Jesus.
I receive You as my Lord and Savior.
I believe that You came to this earth and died on the cross for me.
I believe You are the Son of the Living God.
I commit my life to You.
I am Born Again by Your Holy Spirit
Thank you Jesus
Amen.
If you have prayed this prayer and sincerely believe what you pray,
you can be assured that you are saved.
The apostle Paul had such confidence when he wrote . . .
For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless
I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed,
and am persuaded that he is able to keep that
which I have committed unto him against that day.
2 Timothy 1:12
If you have asked Jesus into your heart and have totally committed your life to Him,
God has forgiven you and you have been adopted into His royal family.
He also promises to save you and to bring you into His heavenly Kingdom forever.
He wants you to feel secure in this.
And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God;
that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
1 John 5:12-13
God cannot lie. What He has promised will come to pass. For you who have trusted Christ for salvation, Heaven is your destination.
Heaven is now your home . . .
How to be baptized in the fire of the Holy Spirit
Baptized in fire and the Holy Spirit
I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I,
whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire . . .
Mathew 3:11
The next step is to ask Jesus to fill you with the Person of the Holy Spirit in what is called in the Bible, the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.
For without the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, it will be difficult to persevere through all the moral chaos in this hour. The demonic forces
of Hell have unleashed their full fury upon every soul who names the Name of Christ.
In this hour of darkness, simply having an intellectual grasp of what Christ has promised through the Holy Spirit is not enough. We
need to be filled with the Holy Spirit. We cannot save ourselves but must fully depend on the enabling power of the Holy Spirit who
works within us to save us from our sins – for He is not a God who saves us in our sins.
We are to repent from sin and yield our lives to the Holy Spirit who works the grace of God within our hearts both to do and to will of
His good pleasure. [Philippians 2:13] Because of the supernatural pull of the demonic forces of pride, lust and evil in this hour, the
righteous remnant will need to avail themselves of all the supernatural power that God offers through the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.
If a hundred years ago, Dwight L. Moody found it necessary to ask for this experience, so should we. He testified that the fruit of his
evangelistic ministry doubled after getting alone with God and asking Christ to baptize him in the Holy Spirit. If Charles Finney said
that he lied prostrate in the woods for three days pleading to God for this experience – that’s good enough for me! We all should do
whatever it takes to seek God and to ask God for this mighty blessing from on high! Therefore, ask the Lord Jesus right now to fill
you with the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and Fire! Delay no longer!
The Lord Jesus understands man’s natural fear concerning the unknown. But the Holy Spirit is a gentleman and will only immerse a
believer who willingly desires to be filled by Jesus . . .
Consider these following texts . . .
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children:
how much more shall your Heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
Luke 11:13
Some teach this was only a dispensational event necessary to birth the new Church. The Bible does not say that. As a matter of fact,
Jesus said a new believer will be more effective in witnessing the gospel after being empowered with the dynamite power of the Holy
Ghost which fills their entire being . . .
And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem,
but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
Acts 1:4-5
And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
And suddenly there came a sound from Heaven as of a rushing mighty wind,
and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire,
and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost,
and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Acts 2:1-4
As you can see from the Scripture below, this pentecostal experience (or what John Wesley referred to as “a second work of grace”)
did not cease after the 120 received the baptism of the Holy Spirit in the Upper Room . . .
He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him,
We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. Then said Paul,
John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people,
that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost
came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
Acts 19:2, 4-6
Fire on you, again!
Remember, if you want to be a truly effective soul-winner, you need the baptism of the Holy Ghost!
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you:
and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria,
and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Acts 1: 8
As with the early Church,as spirit-filled believers today we need to constantly remind ourselves to instruct those who are newly born
again regarding this wonderful experience promised by God . . .
Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God,
they sent unto them Peter and John: Who, when they were come down, prayed for them,
that they might receive the Holy Ghost: (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them:
only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Then laid they their hands on them,
and they received the Holy Ghost.
Acts 8:14-17
Oftentimes, when a person is filled with the Holy Spirit this will be accompanied with supernatural, spiritual gifts such
as found in 1 Corinthians12 through 14 . . .
While Peter yet spoke these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them, which heard the word. And they of the circumcision,
which believed, were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was
poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God.
Then answered Peter, can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized,
which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
